John D. Mimms is a business owner, paranormal researcher, and author. John served as the Technical Director for the Arkansas Paranormal and Anomalous Studies Team (ARPAST). During his four-year tenure with the organization, he helped supervise over 100 investigations and wrote more than sixteen technical articles. One of John’s articles, titled “A Christmas Carol Debunked,” was read live on Parazona Radio by Paul Bradford of Ghost Hunters International fame. John also wrote the ARPAST technical/training manual which is a comprehensive guide on equipment usage, investigation protocol, and scientific theory for paranormal research.
In 2009 John decided to couple his knowledge of paranormal phenomena with his lifelong love of literary fiction. Among his titles are The Great Keep, Death Theory, and The Lemonade Girl. John is currently working on book two of The Tesla Gate trilogy.

Warning: this book won't just break your heart. No, it will tear it out and put it through the blender.
Two weeks ago, Thomas Pendleton's world was shattered when his wife and young son were killed in a car accident while he was away on one of his frequent business trips. When a mysterious atmospheric phenomenon hits the globe and allows the dearly departed to become corporal once again, he's granted the precious gift of a second chance with his boy... but others are determined to cut their time short.
I can't think of any concept more poignant than being reunited with lost loved ones. Good grief, the emotions brought up by just thinking about it... Most of us would consider an event like this as a blessing but the way the governments of the world choose to respond to the 'crisis' is horrifying.
Truthfully, I wasn't sure what to think of Thomas at first. The guy was a selfish workaholic who (as he himself admits) had some screwed up priorities. It took some time for me to warm up to him but I really did come to care deeply for him and Seth. Thomas was an ordinary man trying to do the best he could in a terrible situation and I have no doubt that any parent would have reacted the same way.
I was absorbed in the story until the last page and the ending was an absolute shocker! I was relieved to find out that the story is going to be a trilogy because the author created a world with so much left to explore and I don't think I could rest easy knowing that no answers were coming.
