Did Stephenie Meyer need to write another novel to prove to her critics that Twilight isn't sexist? No, but she's made her point. While the relationship dynamics between Edward/Edythe and Beau/Bella have changed, everything else is essentially the same and no less endearing.

Life and Death follows the original story fairly closely... at least until the finale. There's a shock alternate ending for Beau as well as a few other surprises. If you're a fan of the Saga (and can keep an open mind), this is well worth your time.
