You don't win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way. Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn't exactly what she was expecting. He's an honest to goodness Norse God - an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia's crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms. Her orderly life just got very messy.

This is the sweet story of two lost souls who found a home with each other but theirs is no ordinary love (the ‘paranormal’ part should’ve given that away). No… He’s a hunky Norse god and she’s a very human young woman.

If you’re looking for a new book boyfriend, you're out of luck because I've already claimed Ull! He was a complete gentleman and so protective and tender with Kristia. I can't remember any encounter where he was rude or controlling with her and that earned him extra brownie points with me.

Kristia had her insecurities but she's stubborn, brave and knows exactly what she wants. Once she discovers that her visions may be the key to the gods of Asgard winning the battle of Ragnarok, she wholly commits herself to the cause despite the sacrifices she’ll be called upon to make. She had a selfless heart and I admired her for that.

There’s no question about their devotion to one another and there were plenty of ‘awww’ moments and make out sessions in their courtship (yes, courtship. They don’t go much further than kissing). My only issue (though a small one) was that they’re head over heels in love after only a handful of dates. Don’t get me wrong… they made a perfect couple but their romance seemed rushed to me and more development wouldn’t have gone to waste.

There’s no cliffhanger ending here but the author does sets the scene for the sequel. Ragnarok is coming sooner than anyone expected and there’s a sense of urgency to the plot that will keep you reading on.
